ontarget is Archery GB's exciting and progressive club development programme. Archery GB recognises the commitment and vital role that clubs play in growing the sport. A strong and healthy network of clubs is essential if archery is to grow and flourish.
Through this programme, ontarget will provide clubs with three main benefits - Recognition, Rewards, Development.
All Archery GB affiliated clubs are eligible to join at any time - there is no closing date. Clubs joining ontarget are making a public pledge to be open and friendly, to advance archery and to proactively work with Archery GB.
Join
ontarget is simple and free to join. Click here complete the online application form.
A Word copy of the application form is available here but clubs are encouraged to only use this to gather the information and then use the online version to submit their application.
Once applications have been approved, clubs can start accessing templates and receive guidance and support. Clubs are then encouraged to work towards and apply for a specialism.
Clubs with different sections (e.g. Junior club, Disabled club, Senior club etc) need only apply once as an umbrella club, providing all the information covering all the separate clubs.
All UK archery clubs affiliated to Archery GB will be eligible to join ontarget. As well as English clubs, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish clubs can apply to be involved with ontarget and will benefit from the majority of rewards and benefits.
The current list of ontarget clubs is available here.
Recognition
Clubs joining ontarget are making a public pledge to be open and friendly, to advance archery and to proactively work with Archery GB. In return clubs will be recognised, rewarded and given support, guidance and advice to develop and improve.
ontarget clubs can display the club logo below to show that they are members of the programme.
We will recognise clubs for their commitment to joining ontarget by publicising club names and their achievements, promoting clubs to partners, schools and the local community, and by organising annual awards celebrating club and volunteer successes.
Rewards
A rewards programme will be available for clubs to access on joining and at stages throughout the scheme. A small grant scheme will be available for clubs to increase capacity or attract new participants.
Round 1 of the small grants scheme has been completed. Clubs received a total in excess of £28,000, and we also secured additional funding to provide support to the Home Nation clubs and funding from the London Youth Games to support London based clubs.
* Online Printing Portal - posters, flyers & club leaflets tailored by you for your club
* Small Grants Scheme - Round 3 will open in the Summer 2012 and will allow clubs to apply for funding to assist with meeting the criteria for the specialisms (or another project if the club meets all the criteria).
The full list of benefits can be found here.
Development
ontarget is a development programme. There is no line in the sand that you cross. Clubs will be guided by ontarget to develop in their own way but able to 'cherry-pick' the resources and support they need.
Officer support, guidance, templates and documents will all be available and as part of the Development stage clubs will be be invited to work toward becoming a specialist club.
There will be three specialisms – Young People, Community and Performance.
Archery GB will promote these specialist clubs to new members and our partners. Each club will decide which specialism is most appropriate for them, and will be given guidelines on how to achieve and maintain it. Encouraging our clubs to specialise according to their strengths, and helping them tackle their weaknesses through the criteria and grants schemes will help develop a network of strong healthy clubs across the UK.
